Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Sees Growth in Trade

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Port Authorities of Alexandria and Damietta, Egypt. This historic agreement was signed in Kyiv, Ukraine, on November 2nd.

The cargo turnover between Ukrainian and Egyptian ports is impressive, with over 4.5 million tons of goods exchanged every year. More than half of these cargoes are export of agrarian products from Ukraine.

The Memorandum aims to create a joint working group to discuss joint investment projects and ways to increase cargo turnover between the two countries. This group will include representatives from the USPA, Egyptian port authorities, shipping lines, traders, and port operators.

The Memorandum also provides for a comprehensive exchange of information and mutual assistance for shipping companies, importers, exporters, and forwarders. It also includes the exchange of experience in modernizing port infrastructure and developing IT services and technologies.
