Trans Viking Icebreaking & Offshore Solutions for Stranded Vessels is a game-changer for ships stuck in icy waters. The company's expertise in icebreaking and offshore operations ensures that stranded vessels can be safely and efficiently freed.

Their icebreaking capabilities allow them to navigate through thick ice with ease, making them the go-to solution for vessels trapped in icy conditions. This is particularly crucial in areas like the Baltic Sea and the Arctic Ocean where ice coverage is high.

Trans Viking's fleet of icebreakers is equipped with advanced technology, including powerful engines and reinforced hulls, making them capable of breaking through ice up to 1.5 meters thick. This allows them to reach even the most remote areas.

Offshore Vessel Operations

Trans Viking Icebreaking & Offshore operates a fleet of specialized vessels designed for various tasks. Their offshore vessels are equipped with advanced technology to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The company's fleet includes vessels with a length of up to 130 meters and a beam of up to 24 meters. These vessels are capable of operating in harsh weather conditions, including temperatures as low as -40°C.

Their offshore vessels are equipped with cranes, winches, and other equipment necessary for heavy-lift operations.

CCGS Jean Goodwill is an icebreaking anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) converted to a medium class icebreaker for the Canadian Coast Guard.

The vessel was originally built as Balder Viking for Trans Viking Icebreaking & Offshore AS in 2000.

CCGS Jean Goodwill was sold to Canada in 2018 and was initially expected to enter service in late 2019 following a refit.

However, due to delays, the conversion of the vessel was not completed until November 2020.

The vessel has two sister vessels, CCGS Captain Molly Kool and CCGS Vincent Massey, both of which are converted offshore vessels.

Offshore Vessel Rescues Stranded Bulker

A bulker vessel was rescued by an offshore vessel after it ran aground in heavy weather.

The offshore vessel was able to reach the stranded bulker and provide assistance due to its advanced navigation systems, which allowed it to navigate through the rough seas.

The rescue operation was successful thanks to the quick response time of the offshore vessel and its crew.

The offshore vessel was equipped with a state-of-the-art communication system, which enabled it to stay in contact with the stranded bulker and coordinate the rescue effort.

The rescue operation took several hours to complete, but the offshore vessel was able to stabilize the bulker and prevent further damage.

The bulker was then towed to a nearby port for repairs.

M/S Magné

M/S Magné is a versatile icebreaker that can operate in both open water and ice-covered areas. It has a length of 64 meters and a beam of 16 meters.

The vessel is powered by two Wärtsilä 12V25 diesel engines, which provide a total power output of 12,000 kW. This allows M/S Magné to navigate through thick ice with ease.

Ice class 1A Super is the highest ice class rating for a ship, and M/S Magné has been certified to operate in areas with ice thickness of up to 1 meter. This makes it an ideal choice for operations in the Arctic region.

M/S Magné is also equipped with a dynamic positioning system, which enables it to maintain its position in open water or in icy conditions. This is particularly useful for offshore operations, such as oil and gas exploration and production.
