Comfortable Cabin Amenities

My cabin had a lot of amenities and basics, including a mini refrigerator, a safe, a makeup mirror, a hairdryer, robes, beach towels, and an umbrella.

The number of in-room electrical outlets I had was impressive, with more than I've seen in any other cruise room.

Free WiFi was included in the rate, as well as an unlimited drink package and one specialty dining meal.

If you're a solo traveler, Norwegian's studio suites are designed with you in mind, so you won't have to pay the single-traveler supplement.

The handles on the wardrobes' sliding doors doubled as towel racks, which was a clever use of space.

My cabin was generously sized, with a small hallway, a bathroom, and two wardrobes and a cabinet.

The cabinet had three compartments: one for robes and beach towels, one for a mini fridge, and one with three deep drawers.

The safe was roomy, accommodating my laptop and all my other valuables and important travel documents.

The Princess Luxury Bed in my 162-square-foot cabin was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on while cruising, with a medium-firm mattress and a plush 2-inch-thick pillow top.

In-Room Entertainment

In-room entertainment is a crucial aspect of any cruise experience. You can watch movies or live satellite television, or listen to music and audiobooks preloaded on the TV.

Some cruise lines offer superior in-room entertainment options. Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Line stood out in this regard, with the former offering luxurious furnishings and impeccable service, and the latter providing stylish interior studios with lounge access and added security.

Having a comfortable and quiet cabin is essential for a relaxing cruise experience. I found that Norwegian Cruise Line's stylish interior studios provided just that, despite being the smallest room I stayed in.

The in-room entertainment options on some cruise lines are truly impressive. Princess Cruises, for example, offered the best in-room entertainment, including a comfortable bed and a wide range of preloaded content.
