FedEx Office Layoffs Part of Major Company Changes

FedEx will lay off 78 employees at its West Boylston shipping facility by June 2.

The layoffs are part of a larger effort to align with the evolving needs of the business, according to a FedEx spokesperson.

Affected team members were notified several months before the layoffs occur and will receive assistance with finding other employment opportunities within the company.

Some employees may be offered positions at other locations, and additional support options like relocation assistance or severance may be available.

FedEx will close an office in Durham, resulting in the loss of 123 jobs, and lay off employees at a Raleigh office, resulting in the loss of 218 jobs.

The layoffs at both locations will be effective February 3, with some employees already accepting new positions at other FedEx locations.

Employees whose positions are eliminated will be provided the option to consider a transfer to a new location, severance, or a leave of absence during which they may pursue other positions with FedEx.
